Through-Hole (PTH) and Mixed Technology Assembly

Our Plated Through-Hole (PTH) assembly process accommodates the full spectrum of through-hole components, including axial, radial, odd-forms, those requiring lead forming and more. We apply unique manual insertion techniques for compound through-hole assembly challenges. Flextron is expert in demanding PTH applications such as Aerospace connectors, power & ground planes on thicker PCBs, and heavy copper with out of normal thermal demanding applications.

Solder attachment is performed using our advanced wave soldering machines and Selective Soldering machines (for focused areas) under inert atmosphere (nitrogen) as required by the individual product’s process. We operate using separate systems and solder pots for leaded assembly and for lead-free assemblies to prevent cross-contamination. Selective soldering capability enables us to handle quick-turn and complex assemblies with a high degree of process consistency. We also use Wave and Selective Soldering for some SMT attachment processes.

Flextron specializes in Mixed Technology assemblies where SMT and PTH/THT parts can become quite complex in nature to manufacture. Our suite of  advanced technology SMT lines & programmable robotic selective solder paired with our experienced solder technicians can deliver world-class PCB assemblies in one convenient location. We execute all the processes internally, starting from screen printing to final assembly.
